Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher is unsure whether he would be joining West Ham or another club for his next transfer. West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has recently admitted this fact and the uncertainty of the situation.
The 30-year-old midfielder is about to leave Manchester United and has several choices in front of him, namely West Brom, Valencia and the Hammers. After West Ham’s recent victory at Bristol City and as they entered the fifth round of the FA Cup, Allardyce has affirmed that he is unsure whether Fletcher would be joining his side. He further added that the decision is in Fletcher’s hands.
Allardyce hadn’t spoken to Fletcher but have been into negotiations with his agent. West Ham had apparently decided to sign Fletcher ever since he did not make it to United’s first-team when Louis van Gaal had taken charge. The West Ham manager had confirmed his interest before the FA Cup tie when the Hammers had won 1-0 and affirmed that he did not get the permission to speak to Darren Fletcher directly.
Darren Fletcher is being wooed by quite some other clubs and therefore once his decision is made, the matter will become public knowledge. Allardyce also confirmed that he does not have any timing confirmed for Fletcher’s acceptance and he is willing to accept the midfielder’s decision if the other packages offered to him are more palatable. The manager also affirmed that they would not realistically be able to wait forever for Fletcher’s decision, especially if he is negotiating with other people.
