Adjusting Attitude to Create Abundance All Around You

Things happen on a regular basis that can steal your great mood. You might be out shopping and lose your wallet. You could be scolded by your boss/coach for not completing a project on time. Your kids may be having a bad day and arguing constantly.

What Do You Really Have Control Over?

One of the toughest lessons to learn in life is that we can’t control everything. In fact, there are many instances where the only thing you can control is your own response to what’s going on around you. Maybe your in-laws are coming for an extended visit and you’re dreading it. When we go into situations already upset about them, don’t expect a happy, positive outcome.

Make a slight attitude adjustment and the entire visit could actually turn out quite pleasant. Most of the time, about the only things you truly have control over are what you say and do each day. If someone makes a derogatory comment to you, then you have some options:

Come back with an even worse insult

Walk away angry or upset

Gossip behind their back

Go home and rant and rave

Smile and walk away

As we mature, hopefully we learn to take the high road. Take a deep breath and then go on with your day. Don’t let yourself to respond emotionally.  As we progress through life, we must pay special attention to our emotional growth. It’s okay to cry, stomp your feet and throw a fit when you’re five years old, but not at 30. Creating abundance in your life means you are stronger than that.
